We are delighted to invite you to a public meeting held by Radio Sherborne – the new community radio station for Sherborne and the surrounding parishes. The station was awarded an FM licence by Ofcom in December following a rigorous application process and plans to start full-time broadcasting in late 2012.
The public meeting is being held to offer local people, organizations and businesses the chance to get involved with making programmes. Plans to run special programmes with outside broadcast coverage of local events on FM over the weekend of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June will also be discussed.
The event will be hosted by Radio Sherborne Directors, Chris Tucker, Dan Grunan and Steve Haigh.

Photographs of Sherborne shops and businesses will be on display in and around the town during March 2012. The photographs, taken by local photographer Jim Johnson, capture the wide and diverse range of 'trades' that are an integral part of the town's community today.
The images will shown at an exhibition at The Gryphon School on Tuesday 6th March from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.

Artists, woodworkers and jewellers are among the many exhibitors taking part. They will be housed in large marquees, so whatever the weather, visitors will be able to browse at leisure. Nurserymen and specialist growers will bring their best plants and shrubs to the show. A large selection of garden furniture and garden ornaments will be available. Children will be entertained by famous magician, Mr Merlin. Food and refreshments served throughout the three days. Plenty of free parking near the showground. Dogs are welcome. The courses, each lasting for one week are all practical and designed for adult students (minimum age 18, no maximum age) amateurs and professionals and are internationally recognised as market leaders in both their excellence and imagination. Our staff, many of whom are renowned teachers include the celebrated conductor George Hurst, the charismatic violinist and conductor John Georgiadis, the pianists Andrew Ball and Peter Croser and two ex-King’s Singers, Nigel Perrin and Jeremy Jackman.
