The corpse of a tramp was invested with a fake identity, and then dumped off the coast of Spain carrying the plans for the supposed invasion.
Starring Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen as Montagu and Cholmondeley, the architects of the plot, with Penelope Wilton and Kelly Macdonald, and Johnny Flynn as Ian Fleming (of "007" fame!).
It's one of the greatest deceptions of all time.

Operation Mincemeat isn't groundbreaking cinema, but it's well-crafted and thoughtful; and when the heroes are inventing the personal details for their dead soldier and imagining all the real lives they're affecting, the movie becomes appealingly bittersweet.
