Fri 16 September 7.30pm (doors open at 7.00pm) | Operation Mincemeat (12)
The remarkable true story of the elaborate plot cooked up by British intelligence in 1943 to fool Nazi Germany into thinking the allies planned to invade Greece and Sardinia, rather than their actual target, Sicily.
The corpse of a tramp was invested with a fake identity, and then dumped off the coast of Spain carrying the plans for the supposed invasion.
Starring Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen as Montagu and Cholmondeley, the architects of the plot, with Penelope Wilton and Kelly Macdonald, and Johnny Flynn as Ian Fleming (of "007" fame!).
It's one of the greatest deceptions of all time.
Click here to view the trailer on YouTube (a new browser window will open)
Operation Mincemeat isn't groundbreaking cinema, but it's well-crafted and thoughtful; and when the heroes are inventing the personal details for their dead soldier and imagining all the real lives they're affecting, the movie becomes appealingly bittersweet. Los Angeles Times
A quality cast tackle the script's various twists and turns with aplomb. The Guardian
Elegant and gripping but perhaps just a little genteel. Eye for Film

Sat 24 September 5pm-8pm | The 5K Twilight Shift
We are delighted to announce that our brand new event - 'The 5K Twilight Shift' will take place on Saturday 24th September 2022. Will you take on the challenge and raise vital funds for our life-saving charity?
Taking place at Henstridge Airfield, this event will involve people running, jogging, or walking 5K around the airfield, which is the home of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance team.
In what is expected to be a truly memorable afternoon, the event will begin at 5.00pm; this is significant as it is the time when the crew of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance begin the twilight shift and carry on their life-saving work into the night.
Supporters can enter the 5K Twilight Shift as an individual, as a family, or a group. You can take part as a serious runner or simply use it to have fun and exercise on what will hopefully be a beautiful late afternoon in September.
Participants could even wear fancy dress, or for the more experienced 5K challengers, carry extra weight, just like the air ambulance team need to do, when they are attending an incident. Businesses or groups might like to use the 5K Twilight Shift as an opportunity for team building, or in house competitions with friends and colleagues; it really is an event that is open to all.
As this is a charity-run fundraising event, we are encouraging all participants to raise a minimum of £25 through sponsorship.

Fri 21 October 7.30pm (doors open at 7.00pm) | The Duke (cert 12A)
In 1961, Kempton Bunton, a 60-year-old taxi driver, stole Goya's portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. He sent ransom notes saying that he would return the painting on condition that the government invested more in care for the elderly. What happened next became the stuff of legend. An uplifting true story about a good man who set out to change the world and managed to save his marriage.
It's a delightful, gentle British comedy, and it stars Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren. What more could you ask for?.
Click here to view the trailer on YouTube (a new browser window will open)
It's a beautifully designed film blending newsreel footage to create evocative images of London in the 1960s... Jim Broadbent delivers a spotless performance as the everyman biting back at the system. A fine cast provide sterling support in a film that ends too quickly. Times change but not always for the better, and we often sacrifice important values in the name of progress.. The Duke proves that some old fashioned ways are still relevant today. A delightful film that will get nowhere near the attention it deserves. UK Film Review.
It is Broadbent and Mirren who are the beating heart of this delightful film. Daily Mail
