The Hatton Garden Job (Cert 15)

19 October 2018

Milborne Port Village Hall, Springfield Road, Milborne Port, DT9 5RE

The Village Hall at Milborne Port continues it's Autumn/Winter Moviola season with the screening on Friday 19th October 2018 of The Hatton Garden Job (Certificate 15) (93 minutes).

Over the Easter weekend in 2015, a small team of experienced and elderly burglars broke into the basement vaults at The Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Company and stole millions of pounds in gold, cash and jewellery.  The incident has been called the "largest burglary in English history."

“Director Ronnie Thompson’s involving and likeable enough 2017 crime thriller . . . [is] too much of a lightweight caper.  Nevertheless, the film grows on you, largely because of the fascinating true story, the low-life crime detail and, especially, the quirky, appealing performances of David Calder, Larry Lamb and Phil Daniels.”  Derek Winnert

“Though the pace is slow to pick up, unaided by distracting elevator-style music, the unfolding action of the breaking and entering is gripping and suspenseful when it matters; it’s tense despite the audience’s knowledge of the eventual outcome. This momentum carries the film through to the end with a satisfying climax.”  The Upcoming

The organisers at Milborne Port have secured financial assistance from the Milborne Port Parish Council which will assist with some of the costs of bringing this film (and the others being shown in the Autumn/Winter and Spring seasons) to the Village Hall. This assistance means that they can still offer tickets at £5.00 each (£5.50 each on the door).

Advance tickets will be on sale from 1st October 2018 at Wayne the Butcher in Milborne Port High Street.

Doors open at the Village Hall (located in Springfield Road, Milborne Port, DT9 5RE) at 7.00pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm.
