Sherborne Castle Country Fair

Sherborne Castle Country Fair is a one-day rural event held in the grounds of Sherborne Castle. 

This family day out is run to raise funds for local children’s charities and youth organisations.  It is a traditional country fair with displays and attractions including a circus, dragon boat racing, main ring, rural craft, trade stands and a Rare Breeds Show of rare and native animal breeds.  The 2014 date is Monday 26th May.

Tickets on the day cost: adult £11.00, children (5-14) £4.00, family* £28.00.  Under 5's free.  *Admits 2 adults and 3 fee-paying children.

Film Show Night - Saving Mr Banks

' Cancelled by Moviola. on the 17th May this film Disney's 'Saving Mr Banks'  PG. will now be shown in the Village Hall on Thursday 19th June.'

Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson make terrific sparring partners in this film of Walt Disney's battle to bring Mary Poppins to the screen.  Thompson gives a bravura performance as P L Travers.

Little Voices Performing Arts Week.

Are for children aged between 4 and 16 years, who love to perform on stage. In a week your child will be part of a production, which will be created as we go along.

Your child will be working in a group of performers of different ages. In the first three days they will learn movement and songs and rehearse the scenes that will make up their part of the performance. By the final day they will be ready to put the whole show together. On the last morning the children will have their technical and dress rehearsals, when we add the theatre lighting and stage crew and prepare to entertain our audience in the afternoon. Your child can invite two of their family and friends to watch our final performance. Arrival time will be 2.15pm for a 2.30pm Start, on the final day.
Extra tickets can be purchased.

Your child will be asked to bring in simple costumes and props for the show on the final day but these can be things you already have at home.

BBC One's ever popular Antiques Roadshow to be filmed at Barrington Court.
Recording and entry to our valuation days is free. The doors will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm and as long as you are in the queue by 4.30pm you will see an expert.

If you have a large piece of furniture or other big item, you can send details and photographs to the Antiques Roadshow. It may be possible to arrange for us to look at the item in advance and organise transportation to the venue.
