Welcome to THE ARCH an independent outlet run by Chef owner Gemma Watts. Created on the site of a former Coaching Inn situated in Swan Yard just off Cheap Street, THE ARCH is truly a cafe bistro bar in the true sense, carefully designed and redecorated in a contemporary style. For those nice sunny days, there are three individual outside seating areas.

Opening at 9am Monday to Saturday for coffee and an array of non alcoholic drinks, THE ARCH serves the best patisseries in town coupled with its unique Brunch menu. From 11am we introduce our Bistro menu, full of wonderful lite bites and lunches. This is not a pub or restaurant menu but a Bistro menu accompanied by an extensive range of wines and beers. This menu is available all day until 6pm.

During the afternoon, book yourselves a tea party with cucumber sandwiches ( crusts off of course ) and cake.

At 6pm, following the ethos of the day’s freshly sourced, prepared and cooked food, the Evening menu is introduced. This menu is designed for easy, affordable and unpretentious dining whether you just want something quick on your way to or from the theatre, cinema etc or relax over your meal as long as you wish.

As an addition to THE ARCH, we would also like to introduce you to Above THE ARCH, a separate function and entertainment venue. Above THE ARCH is offering regular live music supper evenings with themed menus as you dine to the entertainment, hopefully meeting new friends along the way.

This venue hosts private functions from breakfast meetings to 3 course dinners, birthdays, weddings etc. Just pop in and we will happily show you around.

THE ARCH is happy to be in the beautiful Swan Yard with its award winning flower display which is accessed off Cheap Street through the Swan Yard arch or from the Old Market Car Park.
