Forthcoming Meeting

Click here to find out about the skate board meeting.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 16th June at  18:00 hours with your ideas for discussion. This is held at Steps in North Street.

SKATE PARK UPDATE

The committee has decided on a name for themselves and it is SK8PIPEDREAM. The group are beginning to come up with ideas for fund raising and what the local children would like at the skate park.

If you would like to leave your ideas please e-mail or phone me and I can pass these on to the committee. If you would like to be involved please come along to the next meeting.

The  W.I have held a Coffee Morning and Bric-A-Brac in aid of SK8PIPEDREAM. They managed to raise over £150.00 and some of the SK8PIPEDREAM members helped on the day. A big thank you to all the members of the W.I for supporting us, and kindly donating the money to us.

Wheathill Close Neighbourhood Watch Scheme have also held a Coffee Morning and Bazaar in aid of the SK8PIPEDREAM. They raised just over £160.00 for the Skate Park. Thank you to all who helped but especially to Nan, Peggy and Janet who organised the event mainly. Again SK8PIPEDREAM members helped out on the day and a good time was had by all.

Our next event is a Garden Party which is going to be held at Ven House, Milborne Port on Saturday 26th June from 2.00pm - 5.30 pm. We have Milboren Port school choir singing along with The Gryphon school choir and King Arthur's school choir. We are lucky enough to also have the Folk Group and Morris Men attending the event. Family games, Raffle, Tombola, Face Painting, Cream Teas, Ice-Cream and various l;ocal Craft Stalls. Come along and support the Skate Park Committee and have a great time as well. For more information, please contact me via e-mail or mobile.

WATCH THIS SPACE AS THERE ARE LOTS OF THINGS COMING UP.

Beat Surgery

My beat surgery is held every five weeks and the next date is 18th May 2010. This is held at Steps in North Street and starts at 10.00 and finishes at 11.30. Please pop along and have a chat and a cuppa and even a piece of cake. The refreshments are really enjoyable and
they don't break the bank.

Milborne Port Primary School

There will be a school asembley that I will  be leading and the children have asked me to explain to them the role of a PCSO- Police Community Support Officer. It is a good time to get the children together and chat to them about the role and ask them their thoughts about what my role is.

After the assembley we will run through some ways of crossing the road and safety while out and about. This will be carried out using games and team working to get the children to work and think about their own safety. This is a great time to re-install what they have previously learnt, especially now it is getting nearer to the Summer Holidays again. I can't believe it is nearly that time already.

After school on the days that I am working you can usually find me outside the school, where the children and parents can come and chat. This gives the children and parents the knowledge that they are safe and home time is a great time to speak to people. Lots of people come over and express the fact that like to see a presence after school.

YOUTH CLUB.

Some of the local parents have got together and are busy trying to re open the Youth Club. Plans are going very well and they are hoping to open as soon as possible. They have loads of fab ideas for children and are keen to get things up and running. This club is going to be held at Church House and it is every Wednesday from 7.00pm - 9.00pm.

If you would like more details or would like to volunteer to help please conatct me and I can pass the details of the leaders.

Church House Lunch Club.

The lunch club is still being run at Church House, Bathwell Lane. This is attended by myself every five weeks, where personal safety and current issues are discussed and leaflets given out. Come along and enjoy a wonderful home cooked meal for a fantastic price. The people that attend the club have accepted me there now and they are happy to chat and discuss things with me.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SCHEMES.

Two new NHW schemes have been set up recently and are working well. These schemes benefit the community and it is a great way to get involved in your neighbourhood and make new friends. If you are interested in becoming a co-ordinator of a new scheme or want more information on a scheme in your area please feel free to contact me in, either via e-mail, phone or in person. I am always happy to help and support our community of Milborne Port.
